Last time, the promise was depth over gloss. This one is about how we intend to earn it.
Every studio says "depth." The difference is what's underneath, and for us, what's underneath is science: real papers, real math, real data. Not vibes dressed up as simulation.
For a while now, the programmers and I have been reading. Not skimming, actually reading. We're running three or four projects at once, on engines we've put years into, working whenever we can. Alongside the building there's been a parallel obsession: finding the real math. Not formulas that just produce plausible-looking numbers, but understanding what the math means. Why a curve bends the way it does. Where the model holds, and where it quietly lies to you.
For the tennis project, we went looking for everything: papers commissioned by the tennis bodies themselves, studies from health organizations, research into what should and shouldn't be in a simulation of this sport. For the racing project, it's honestly astonishing how much usable data and physics already exist and are published. Most of the hard thinking has already been done by people much smarter than us. Our job is to read it, understand it, and turn it into something you can feel when you play.
We genuinely love this part. Sitting with a dense paper until it starts making sense. The moment a real dataset confirms the engine is behaving like reality, and the moment it doesn't, because that's when you actually learn something.
We'll get things wrong sometimes. But when an engine is grounded in real science, a mistake isn't a dead end, it's something you can find and fix. And we'll try hard to stay current: science moves, data updates, and we don't want engines frozen in the year they shipped.
Something personal, while we're here: one of us spent years writing to the studios behind our favorite games, suggesting changes, and was never once heard. That's part of why this studio exists. So here's the promise: we will always hear you. Not a feedback form that vanishes into a void. An actual conversation.
No false promises either. Small team, big ambitions, hard math: some things will take longer than we hope, and some we'll have to rethink completely. But the passion behind this is real. The science is the foundation. You're the compass.
