A short one, about a dream that can't fully be built yet.
The Steam Deck and those quiet nights were already mentioned once. One of those nights: Firewatch. And something clicked that hasn't unclicked since, because that experience, walking through someone's story, feeling it instead of just watching it, is exactly what we want to give people. Not necessarily with new stories. With stories that already exist.
Twenty years in film leaves you with a head full of wonderful films most people have never watched: films in languages rarely heard, from places the algorithms never surface. Not obscure because they're bad. Obscure because the system failed them. And here's the part that gets us: they're struggling with the same real things everyone is. Grief, work, family, pride, starting over. Made with love, and then almost nobody saw them.
Maybe they have another life, as games. Elevated visual novels, small 3D games, point-and-click, whatever form each story deserves, ideally a different kind for every film. Built on the real IP, the real films, the real actors and voices. Playing your way into a film that would never have found you otherwise, the way Firewatch found one of us at 2 AM on a handheld.
Honestly: the idea is still forming, still being planned properly. This isn't an announcement. It's saying out loud what we want, so it becomes real. Maybe in a couple of years this gets built. Maybe sooner. One night, a little machine, one game about a man in a forest, and now there's a whole shelf of unseen films waiting for a second life. We intend to give it to them.
